I wanted to write you in hopes you would be interested in an event I’ll be directing in Alabama for a convention called Persacon. The dates of the con run the weekend of the Final HP movie opening so we’ve decided to celebrate in style with something we are calling “Project Phoenix”. Since I run entertainment for several conventions a year through Concept Galaxy (www.conceptgalaxy.com) I was able to collaborate with several convention owners for an event we are calling the “Tri-Convention Wizard’s Tournament” that will be a spoof on the 4th HP book/movie “Goblet of Fire” where 3 champions from 3 different states with fantasy, anime, and gaming conventions will compete with each other in some Harry Potter, anime, and gaming related challenges for eternal glory (and prizes).

Con attendees will get to join in by deciding which champion’s team they will get to be in on. There will also be Harry Potter costume photo shoots for cosplayers and live filming of Harry Potter cosplayers who want to be part of some funny spoof videos being made. We have been able to make the filming part of things much more exciting thanks to the owner of Realmscon, Daniel Valasquez. Since I’ll be directing entertainment for a variety show at his convention Realmscon where Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) will be the guest of honor he has promised the attendees of Realmscon that are part of the filming that if they have anything they want to say to Tom Felton on film to do it, and a compilation DVD will be made that he will personally hand to Tom Felton.

Alot of the material filmed will also be edited together and used in Realmscon’s Opening and Closing Ceremonies along with the variety show. So for those who can’t make it all the way out to Texas to see Tom Felton or the show for Tom in person, they still have a way to be part of it if they are in Alabama or any of the surrounding states that are only about an hour or two drive to Huntsville for Persacon http://www.persacon.com/354/67554.html

A full schedule for Persacon will be announced very soon including all of the Harry Potter fan activities that will happening on Friday. Many of the con attendees will be gathering in groups for the midnight showing on Thurs. night/Fri. Morning and some will be going Friday night of the con as well in groups. I would love if you could help me get the word out about this more. I would hate for fans of Felton and the Harry Potter series to not find out about it until it’s over just because of lack of word getting out. Thank you. – Stephanie C.

The book has not yet been posted, so be patient, the book will arrive by the end of the Summer. for now, we’re just getting our information together.
